Job Opportunity: 05 Data Clerks – Shwari Health Association Cameroon (SHAC)
Shwari Health Association Cameroon (SHAC) is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to providing innovative and evidence-based healthcare solutions in Cameroon. Our mission focuses on improving health systems to deliver impactful results, particularly for children and adolescents living with HIV. Through community-driven initiatives, we connect individuals to healthcare services, ensuring continued care and support for effective treatment outcomes.
In collaboration with Georgetown University’s Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) and Cameroon’s Ministry of Health, SHAC implements the SAFECARE-Cameroon project, a CDC/PEPFAR-funded initiative aimed at accelerating the country’s progress toward HIV epidemic control.
Role Purpose:
The Data Clerk will play a vital role in supporting HIV treatment programs by accurately managing and documenting data within healthcare facilities. This position ensures timely entry of information into electronic health systems, tracks patient care activities, and contributes to the evaluation of HIV service delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate patient records and tracking tools.
- Enter and validate data in electronic systems (DAMA, EMR).
- Organize and correct outdated records to ensure consistency.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate detailed reports to monitor health indicators and activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient care using data insights.
- Participate in data validation sessions and provide actionable feedback.
- Confidentiality and Security:
- Ensure compliance with data protection policies.
- Safeguard all electronic equipment and patient information.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with healthcare providers to support decision-making.
- Assist with routine data validation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for submission to SHAC and partners.
- Contribute to tracking lost-to-follow-up patients and community-based activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: GCE Advanced Level, Baccalaureate, or relevant diploma.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in HIV care or computer science.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Other Skills: Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Language: Fluency in French or English is essential.
