Job Advertisement: Nurse Anesthetist
As part of the expansion of its activities to satisfy all its customers, Africa Eye Foundation, an international NGO, is recruiting for the position of Nurse Anesthetist for its hospital, MagrabiICO Cameroon Eye Institute (MICEI), located in Obok on the Okola Road.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-anesthesia consultations with patients
- Coordinate the scheduling of surgeries under general anesthesia between anesthetists, the operating theater, the admission department, and patients
- Ensure application of anesthesia protocols at the nurse theater station
- Prepare the room for both local and general anesthesia
- Prescribe postoperative drugs (analgesics) before transferring the patient
- Monitor the patient before, during, and after anesthesia
- Ensure proper storage, disinfection, and cleaning of anesthesia equipment
- Write the anesthesia report in the register
- Make an inventory of drugs and consumables used and notify the relevant authorities
- Order drugs and consumables weekly
- Make available the consultation statistics at the end of each month
Candidate Profile and Skills:
- Knowledge of anesthesia protocols (subject to test)
- Holder of a Nurse Anesthetist diploma
- Willingness to learn
- Strong communication and patient management skills
- Knowledge of surgical procedures
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
