JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: 15 CLINICAL MENTORS / Site Lead, SAFECARE Project

About SHWARI Health Association Cameroon (SHAC):
SHWARI Health Cameroon is a locally registered organization committed to delivering high-quality, innovative, and evidence-based solutions to health system challenges in Cameroon, with a particular focus on children and adolescents. In partnership with Georgetown University’s Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI), SHAC is implementing the CDC/PEPFAR-funded SAFECARE-Cameroon Project. This 5-year initiative aims to deliver sustainable, facility and community-based HIV services to children, adolescents, and adults across PEPFAR-supported regions of Cameroon, accelerating progress towards HIV epidemic control.
To support this mission, SHAC is seeking qualified, experienced, and passionate individuals to join its team.
Position Summary:
The Clinical Mentor / Site Lead will support a cluster of 2 to 4 health facilities in delivering high-quality HIV care and treatment. The role involves direct clinical service support, mentoring of healthcare staff, oversight of project implementation activities, and ensuring compliance with national HIV guidelines and the objectives of the SAFECARE Project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care and Mentorship:

Provide direct clinical services when needed in ART clinics.
-
Mentor healthcare workers in HIV prevention, care, and treatment, including PMTCT, TB/HIV co-infection, TPT, and viral load monitoring.

Conduct capacity-building sessions and refreshers based on facility needs.
-
Guide therapeutic education for patients and ensure optimal documentation of services.
-
Support health workers in using health literacy materials effectively.
2. Site Coordination and Program Oversight:
-
Serve as the liaison between SHAC, Health District teams, and health facilities.

Supervise and support CBOs, APS, bikers, and data associates at assigned sites.

Lead coordination with KP, OVC, and other implementing partners.

Participate actively in site-level meetings and strategic reviews (daily, weekly, monthly).

Support data reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and ensure achievement of program targets.

Prepare sites for SIMS visits and contribute to ECHO case presentations.

Facilitate timely disbursement and reporting of project-related funds and logistics.

Ensure stakeholder engagement and leadership support at assigned facilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, or Nurse Midwife (preference for HIV Nurse Prescriber or HIV-trained medical doctor).

Master’s degree in Public Health is a strong advantage.
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in HIV clinical management, including PMTCT.

At least 3 years of experience in HIV program design, clinical mentoring, or quality improvement.

Registered with relevant professional bodies.

Strong knowledge of Cameroon’s health system and national HIV guidelines.
-
Familiarity with PEPFAR-funded programs is highly desirable.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.

Fluency in French and working knowledge of English.
