The World Health Organization (WHO) is currently recruiting Digital Communication Assistants to support its online communication initiatives, particularly in the fight against misinformation and the promotion of vaccination efforts.

Job Context

In a time when misinformation poses a major challenge to vaccination campaigns, WHO is seeking experts to manage the digital communication for the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI). This program aims to strengthen public trust by providing reliable information and engaging directly with communities through digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the WHO vaccination coordinator and in collaboration with the EPI team, the Digital Communication Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Managing the EPI Website: Creating, editing, and improving content to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Managing Social Media Accounts: Overseeing WHO and EPI’s official accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring visibility and engagement.
  • E-reputation Management: Monitoring and managing WHO and EPI’s digital reputation, ensuring a positive online presence.
  • Digital Strategy Development: Designing and implementing communication strategies to promote vaccination campaigns.
  • Web Marketing and Visibility: Identifying and leveraging online communities, partnerships, and SEO strategies to improve WHO and EPI’s online presence.
  • Community Engagement: Interacting with users, posting engaging content, and moderating discussions on social media platforms.
  • Media Monitoring and Reporting: Conducting continuous digital trend monitoring and preparing monthly performance reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: A degree in communication, digital marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in managing social media accounts and digital communication.
  • Key Skills:
    • Proficiency in web marketing tools, content creation, and social media management.
    • Strong writing and content creation skills, with an ability to produce compelling, informative materials.
    • Ability to manage multidimensional projects both independently and in team settings.
  • Languages: Fluent in French (English is an asset).
